february: a summary

These two photos were taken on the same afternoon, during the same car ride, and in the same street, just different moments and instances. I like how the skies are "colored" differently though.

I can't believe I made it through February alive! School work just started coming my way and I am quite pleased with myself for being able to cope up with the heavy work, despite the fact that I am now sick with colds, thanks to the cold weather, probably.

I don't have a lot of photos to show for this month because of the lack of "bloggable" adventures and pictures I've had this past month. I swear I've done a couple of things this month, it's just that not most of them are things I feel like posting about. Most of them, of course, happened in university. I think those stories are for my text-heavy tumblr, and my twitter to tell. (plug plug)

Saddening as it sounds, I haven't finished Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer (see: Currently Reading) this month. Yikes! However, despite that, I'm proud of myself for being able to read more short stories (Murakami has been a favorite of my professor so far) thanks to my required readings. Also, even if I haven't been updating my fiction blog and this blog a lot, I've been writing a lot for classes and working on different ideas and projects. I'm pleased with myself for being able to like what I'm writing more now. Last semester wasn't really a "my" semester but I feel like doing better this time. Better than myself that is.

March is a month I've been looking forward to ever since the start of the year so I'm just plain excited for the things to come.

Seventeen Things about my Eighteenth

In place of my "17 things over 18" writeup which I used to do for 3 consecutive years during my birthday, I decided to just write 17 things about the way I celebrated my 18th birthday because I just wanted to talk about it some more even if it has been a month already.

I'm officially done with my first year of college but I still have to undergo the midyear term because I want to take up some of my classes in advance.

By small streets and high walls

Under the glaring heat and light of the intense summer sun, our Philosophy class went on a trip to places of worship of different religions. Apparently, these temples, (we also went to a Mosque but I wasn't able to take a photo of it) could be found in very hidden areas in Manila while a Jewish Synagogue can actually be found in Makati.

I'm not really a fan of getting to know about other religions, despite the fact that we visited these places to get to know about their beliefs, but I'm very much interested in the appearance of these places. I'm more interested in how colorful and odd these things seem to me.

Roller coaster: 2014

[FILIPINO POST]

Naging isang mahabang roller coaster ride ang 2014. Pero gaya ng maraming rides sa amusement park, siyempre, ang katotohanan, feeling mo maikli lang talaga ito. Ang daming ikot doon, paliko, taas, baba, bagsak-- ang daming nangyari pero sa dami ng feelings na naramdaman mo habang nakasakay sa roller coaster, e malamang feeling mo dumaan lang saglit ang panahon. 

Pero hindi naman magiging isang awesome na roller coaster ride ang isang roller coaster ride kung wala kang mga nakasama sa roller coaster ride na iyon. Imbes na balikan lang ang mga pinakamasasayang alaala, siguro, kailangan ko rin pasalamatan ang mga nakasama ko sa roller coaster ride na 2014. 

17 things over 16

Every year, as my age makes a step ahead, I write about my past year in the world in numbered form. It started last year but I no longer have ways of trying to find out where the hell that first thing is. So here I am, and I will write about the past year since I last existed. This is a way to look back at all the blessings I earned from the last year I was blessed with air to breathe, opportunities to enjoy and learn from, and many other.

1. I made it through that 'where and what college' phase and while I wanted to become a Communication or Fine Arts major at first, fate has brought me to the field of Creative Writing in Filipino. I have come to accept it wholeheartedly and I am enjoying indulging myself into these kinds of things right now, but I have to be honest that there are still 'what ifs'. What if I took up Communication? What if I took up Fine Arts? But life is good right now, or stressful, I suppose.

Step into the Second Month

September has finally come and I am yet to post about more college stuff happenings. It has been a month, I am struggling a bit, but at least I am quite comfortable with the people in a reasonable rate.

Sixteen random things over fifteen

1.  I would have written this on my ‘sweet’ 16th which was few days ago. However, my 16th birthday wasn’t ‘sweet’ because we were given a horrifying amount of work at school, I had to head home very late and I didn’t get the book I wanted.

2. I still don’t have my own room. It sucks.
