Heir of Fire

"Perhaps that's your problem. Perhaps not picking a side is what costs you. Perhaps you need to tell your father you're breaking your promise." -Heir of Fire, Sarah J. Maas

God of book photography, please forgive me.
Since I have already established from my past two Throne of Glass series book reviews how much of a ChaoLaena shipper I am, obviously, I came back to the series hoping so much for some kind of making up between Chaol and Celaena somewhere in the story.

But good lords, that's not what was in Sarah J. Maas's Heir of Fire. Nonetheless, even if I don't think it can compete to how well I loved Crown of Midnight, I had some fun reading this book.

Crown of Midnight.

"But death was her curse and her gift, and death had been her good friend these long long years." -Crown of Midnight, Sarah J. Maas

BEST. BOOK. IN. THE. SERIES. SO. FAR.

I don't know what it is with these young adult series that I read that the second book is sooooo much better than the first book. Yet again, for S.J. Maas's Crown of Midnight, the second book to her Throne of Glass Series, I find myself getting more lost and invested in Celaena's world.

Crown of Midnight follows the happenings after Celaena Sardothien takes over her new job as the King of Adarlan's champion after her triumph in the series of challenges in the first book, Throne of Glass. In this book, we get to learn more about the magic in Adarlan. There's so much to talk about this book I don't even know where I should start.

Throne of Glass

I should've picked another book for a setup that's as dainty as this.
I spent the half of my June doing a marathon of Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series. Yup, I couldn't believe I was able to finish that much content in the course of two and a half weeks. But I did, and I love it when I read that way. I feel productive. Next month, when summer break is done, I'd have to bid goodbye to this kind of productivity to make way for school work.

Anyway, I'm so happy for finally knowing why there was so much hype over this series. It's pretty justified.
